In May 2005, Dr Rob Powell interviewed David Carpenter, for a programme maker called "Health Radio".
For clarification, it is worth noting that, despite the hopes expressed in that interview, at the time of writing there is still no statutory protection to safeguard the standards of the psychotherapy and hypnotherapy professions.
Some have asked about the outcome of the case mentioned in the interview: after several months of appointments, the patient no longer had a problem, or any need for therapy, and was able to return to full time work, to his great relief and pleasure.
